The Dandenong Ranges Steiner School maintains many policies and procedures that reflect the ethos of the school and guide its overall management and organisation. The school’s policies have been put into place to protect the well-being and safety of its students, staff and members of the school community. All of DRSS’ policies are ratified by the the Management Team, College of Teachers or Board of Governors and are reviewed over a one, two or three year cycle depending on the policy.

Every 12 months Child safety risk register and risk assessments Review risks and the effectiveness of risk controls annually.
At least every 2 years Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy Review and evaluate at least every two years, and after a significant child safety incident.
At least every 2 years Child safety procedures and practices Review and evaluate their effectiveness, including complaints, concerns and incidents.
Every 3 years General school policies Review and evaluate every three years or as gaps are identified.

Policies may need to be reviewed sooner if legislation changes, an incident occurs or a compliance gap is identified.

Dandenong Ranges Steiner School allocates approval responsibilities as follows:

  • Board of Governors: Policies requiring board approval or endorsement.
  • Management Team: Operational and administrative policies within delegated authority.
  • College of Teachers: Curriculum and educational policies where authority has been delegated.
